Lead Lawyer
Gieljan has more than ten years of experience in labor and social security law and combines technical depth with a pragmatic approach. He advises on both day-to-day labor law issues and complex cases, ranging from terminations and restructurings to international mobility and the employment-related aspects of M&A transactions.
Before moving into private practice, Gieljan worked at the largest Belgian trade union, where he acted as a litigator in social disputes and later as a social law expert and negotiator for industry-wide collective bargaining agreements. He then further expanded his practice within the Employment & Benefits team of an international law firm and at a boutique law firm specializing in social law.
This combination of trade union experience, industry knowledge, and familiarity with the complexities behind major transactions makes him a versatile and distinctive partner for both companies and investors.
